Catholic Foundation of Eastern Montana Announces Hiring of Scott Held as President
The Catholic Foundation of Eastern Montana is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Held as its new President.
Scott brings a strong background in executive leadership, strategic development, and Catholic ministry to the Foundation. He most recently served as Executive Director of Catholic Social Services of Montana, where he partnered with diocesan leadership across the state and led efforts in program development, philanthropic growth, and organizational strategy.
In his role as President, Scott will guide the Foundation’s mission to support the long-term financial health and growth of the Catholic Church in Eastern Montana through stewardship, donor engagement, and strategic advancement.
“Scott is a proven servant leader with a deep commitment to the Church and to the people of Montana,” said Board Chair, Rachel Howard. “His experience in developing meaningful relationships, strengthening organizations, and familiarity with the Eastern Diocese of Montana makes him uniquely suited to lead the Foundation into the future.”
Scott, born in Sidney, has called Savage, Shepherd (Billings), Great Falls, East Helena, and Helena his home. With this appointment, he is excited to return to Great Falls. He is a graduate of the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND, and is an active member of the Catholic community, including current and past involvement with the Knights of Columbus, parish leadership roles, and St Thomas Camp.
“I am honored to serve the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Montana and the people, parishes, and ministries that help and provide joy and hope to so many,” said Held. “I look forward to building a strong and lasting legacy of faith and stewardship across God’s Country.”
Scott will begin his role as President on July 13, 2026.
