Taffy Cochran

What I Do: I work part-time and focus on special projects, basically assisting Judy in any way I can to further the mission of the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Montana. Every day brings something new when working with our wonderful donors and parishes!

What I Did: I was a banker from 1981-2007, working in several areas, from Teller to Compliance to Construction Lender. From 2009-2015, I was the Director of Development for Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School in Great Falls. Then, I tried to retire/volunteer, but Judy pulled me in and here I am…!

Favorite Place In Montana: “I grew up on a farm north of Fort Shaw on the Ashuelot Bench. We had an amazing, unobstructed view of Square Butte to the south of our farm, looking across fields of barley, wheat and alfalfa. However, my favorite place to vacation is Swan Lake where family members vacation or own property. Swan holds fond memories of family surrounded by the natural beauty of mountains and glistening water.”

If I Had To Choose Another Profession: Librarian / Research – I love learning and sharing what I learn with others.

My Commitment: To never be hasty in judgement and always be generous.

My Favorite Part of My Job: The variety of tasks and projects in my work.

Fun fact About My Pet: Our cat Felix is polydactyl – meaning that he has more than the usual number of toes. He looks like he has thumbs. This makes him much more dexterous as he has the ability to grip items much like a human.

Fun Personal Fact: In my genealogy research, I discovered that I am a descendant of Thomas Blossom (1580-1632/3), one of the original Pilgrim Fathers who emigrated to America for greater religious freedom. He is also an ancestor of former presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama.
