This endowment provides critical support for pro-life work throughout Eastern Montana. Each year, the sitting bishop of the diocese determines which crisis pregnancy center(s) and other organizations serving women, children, and babies will receive the funds from this distribution.

GOAL
Holy Family Parish in Glentana (Bishop Eldon Schuster’s hometown) received a generous bequest from a Holy Family parishioner, Frank Heckner, soon after his passing in 1991. In 1998, the Holy Family Parish Council voted to use a portion of Mr. Heckner’s gift to establish this permanent endowment in honor of Bishop Schuster.

Planned Giving
Your support of permanent endowments at the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Montana can qualify you for unique tax and/or lifetime income benefits (especially the hefty 40% Montana Endowment Tax Credit) through what we call “planned gifts.”
Establish a Named (Legacy) Endowment
Donors may create a Named (Legacy) Endowment benefiting the Catholic parish, school, or ministry of their choice. All that’s required to start is a gift of $20,000 or more (or a pledge of $20,000 or more, given within five years of creating the endowment).
