The annual distribution from the Nellie May Deegan Cox Memorial Nursing Scholarhip Endowment provides scholarships for students from the Diocese of Great Falls-Billings who are in their last two years of the nursing program at Carroll College in Helena.

Jackie Cox created the Nellie May Deegan Cox Memorial Nursing Scholarship Endowment to honor her husband, Dale Cox, by celebrating the memory of his dear mother, Nellie Deegan Cox. Nellie passed away when Dale was in second grade. A native of Ireland, Nellie was a nurse by training and also a devout Catholic. Dale was raised by his father and his family, none of whom were Catholic, yet honored Nellie’s request to ensure Dale and his siblings would attend Catholic school and become practicing Catholics. Dale remained a faithful Catholic throughout his life.

Planned Giving
Your support of permanent endowments at the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Montana can qualify you for unique tax and/or lifetime income benefits (especially the hefty 40% Montana Endowment Tax Credit) through what we call “planned gifts.”
Establish a Named (Legacy) Endowment
Donors may create a Named (Legacy) Endowment benefiting the Catholic parish, school, or ministry of their choice. All that’s required to start is a gift of $20,000 or more (or a pledge of $20,000 or more, given within five years of creating the endowment).
