The annual distribution from the Amy J. Wathen Endowment provides scholarships for children with special needs, grades K-12, to attend any Catholic school in the Diocese of Great Falls-Billings.

Amy Wathen established this endowment after reading a story in the news about a young woman named Emily in Amy’s hometown of Billings. As a special needs student, Emily was experiencing obstacles in her quest to graduate with her peers from her high school. This touched Amy’s heart as in her youth, she also was considered to have special needs and encountered so many painful challenges. Amy has been most successful in life and wanted to give back to help young people like her to be able to receive a quality, Catholic education in her home diocese.

Planned Giving
Your support of permanent endowments at the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Montana can qualify you for unique tax and/or lifetime income benefits (especially the hefty 40% Montana Endowment Tax Credit) through what we call “planned gifts.”
Establish a Named (Legacy) Endowment
Donors may create a Named (Legacy) Endowment benefiting the Catholic parish, school, or ministry of their choice. All that’s required to start is a gift of $20,000 or more (or a pledge of $20,000 or more, given within five years of creating the endowment).
