The Catholic Foundation currently manages more than 100 permanently-restricted endowments. All established by donors like you. These are funds which are invested in perpetuity and pooled for maximum earning power in support of the distinct beneficiaries (parishes, schools, diocesan ministries, Catholic organizations). Below is a list of the Foundation’s endowments and short descriptions of their purpose.

Earnings used as determined by the Foundation’s volunteer board of directors, made up of laypersons from throughout our diocese who have a special passion for building a strong and stable future for the Catholic Church.

Many parishes have endowments that provide a dependable source of funds to underwrite parish programs, operations and ministries. Care and Share expands the ministries offered by and supported throughout the Diocese of Great Falls-Billings.
Parish Assistance Endowment
Provides assistance to a parish which finds itself in need of support beyond its own resources. The Catholic Foundation of Eastern Montana’s Board of Directors determines allocations. “Caring for each other in our own backyard”could be the name of this endowment!
Priest Retirement Endowment
Many diocesan priests have served faithfully for their lifetimes, bringing Sacraments to our communities. This endowment benefits the organization (Clerical Benefits Association) that provides pensions for our priests.
Seminarian Education Endowment
Helps provide an essential and perpetual source of revenue to meet the ever-increasing educational costs of seminarians preparing to serve the Diocese of Great Falls-Billings.
Stites Memorial Residence Endowment
Helps support building and maintenance needs to preserve the Stites Memorial Residence in Great Falls which houses retired priests.
St. Thomas Catholic Camp Endowment
Provides for the ongoing structural, programming and participant needs of this Catholic camp nestled in the beautiful Little Belt Mountains. St. Thomas Camp offers youth in grades 5-12 opportunities for excellent spiritual, physical, faith and friend-forming experiences.
Tribunal Endowment
Supports the Tribunal ministry of our diocese, which assists individuals seeking annulments, and supports marriage in the Church through education, Engaged Encounter, Marriage Encounter, and Retrouvaille and ministers to the divorced and widowed through the TESH program.
Youth and Young Adult Ministry Endowment
Supports the personnel and programs that are resources for the formation, growth and renewal of our youth and young adults.

Named Endowments
A permanently endowed fund enables you to provide ongoing support for a specific parish, school or Catholic ministry operated within the Diocese of Great Falls-Billings. Such a fund can bear either your name or the name of a person or institution you would like to honor. Anyone can add to an existing named endowment (one that another person has already established).
